Performance
Engineered to deliver performance and quality, the new Accent features an eco-efficient 1.6-liter GDI engine that generates 137 horsepower and 123 pound-feet of torque. The Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing helps improve torque and enhance fuel economy, so you spend less time at the pump. The four-cylinder can be paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC®.
The Accent sedan has an impressive coefficient of drag (a mere 0.28) thanks in part to aerodynamic improvements in its design. These enhancements include a more aerodynamic body, shielded tires, and optimized engine undercover to help minimize resistance and deliver an EPA-estimated 37 mpg hwy.**
All Accent models equipped with an automatic transmission have an Active ECO System that modifies engine and transmission control for improved fuel economy. Based on Hyundai testing, this system provides improvements in real-world fuel efficiency.
Features
The Accent has plenty of available tech features that add to its comfort and convenience. Available steering wheel-mounted controls let you change the station, turn up the volume, and engage cruise control without taking your hands off the wheel--it’s all right at your fingertips. Design

Safety
Hyundai provides sophisticated safety features standard on all 2017 Accent trim levels. The Accent is equipped with six airbags total, including front, front side-impact, and side-curtain airbags to help protect you when the unavoidable occurs. The comprehensive Vehicle Stability Management System links and optimizes the function of active safety features, incorporating Motor-Driven Power Steering, Electronic Stability Control, and the Traction Control System. It’s all the stability you need, controlled by one impressive management system.
Electronic Stability Control senses when a skid is imminent and responds. It does so by applying the appropriate amount of braking to individual wheels and adjusting throttle input, keeping you on your intended path. The Traction Control System detects wheel slip and applies the brakes as needed, then transfers power to the wheels that are stable.
Electronic Brake-force Distribution balances braking forces at each wheel to help you maintain control during sudden braking, so you can brake with confidence every time. The Anti-lock Braking System helps prevent the possibility of wheel lockup under hard braking to help you maintain steering control as you stop. Finally, Brake Assist helps detect emergency braking situations and ensures the maximum braking force is immediately applied to minimize stopping distances.
