The 2018 Hyundai Power Roundup

A closer look at Hyundai's most powerful models

After one hundred years of automotive engineering evolution, the modern driver deserves power. Heritage Hyundai Towson understands, so this month, we’re honoring the top three most powerful models in the Hyundai lineup. And the winners are… (Please imagine a drumroll in your head.)

Most Horsepower

The Hyundai Azera (pictured above) uses a 3.3-liter V6 engine to produce a capable 293 hp and 255 lb-ft of torque. Not only is that more than enough to propel this lightweight sedan down the interstate and get you there on time, but from the stop light, this Hyundai launches from 0 to 60 in just 6.2 seconds.

Most Towing Capacity

The 2018 Santa Fe comes with a standard 290-hp 3.3-liter GDI DOHC 24-valve V6 engine that's capable of propelling this three-row SUV over mountains and down the interstate with ease. Not only can you seat seven passengers comfortably on the inside, you can also tow up to 5,000 lbs. That’s a couple of jet skis on a trailer (AKA "an incredibly fun way to spend a weekend").

Most Powerful Hybrid

The Hyundai Sonata Hybrid’s combination of a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and a 50kW electric motor is a technological achievement. This modern marvel puts out an impressive combined 202 hp, and it accelerates from 0 to 60 in 7.6 seconds. Plus, it's not just fast—it gets an amazing 99 MPGe as well.*

These are just the top three models on our list, and there are many more feats of strength from Hyundai we would love to tell you about. So chug that energy drink, down that double espresso, or crush whatever rocket fuel you’re consuming, and come see us at Heritage Hyundai Towson or contact us to learn more about the powerful options we have in our showroom.
