What's New?

For 2018, Hyundai upgraded the Sonata from front to back, adding refreshed styling, an eight-speed automatic transmission (instead of the previous six-speed), a tweaked suspension system, new USB ports, extra navigation features, and more. No matter what you're looking for in a new family sedan, you're bound to find it in the 2018 Sonata.

Overview

The Hyundai Sonata has always been a popular choice for buyers looking for a stylish, comfortable, and powerful sedan, and the 2018 model continues the trend. Not only does the 2018 Hyundai Sonata offer a powerful yet efficient ride, it's also a spacious and comfortable sedan that flirts with luxury levels of equipment and provides plenty of cargo space.

The Sonata is available in five trims and starts at $22,050.*

The Perfect Ride for…

Drivers who need a versatile midsize sedan that delivers on value, versatility, and convenience, not to mention style. Arresting design touches aboundthe car's sculpted hood, "cascading" grille, and narrower headlights all distinguish the Sonata from your average boring sedan. The Sonata also comes standard with a 7-inch touchscreen, Blue Link® infotainment, and Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ smartphone functionality.

Drive & Handling

Hyundai gives you plenty of options when it comes to the 2018 Sonata. In addition to the base SE, the newest Sonata will be available in four different trims: Eco, SEL, Sport, and Limited. All but the Eco (which sports a 1.6-liter engine) are powered by a 2.4-liter I4 engine, which delivers a capable 185 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. Of course, if you like your engines turbocharged, upgraded versions of both the Sport and Limited are available, which boosts horsepower to 245.

Nor does that performance doesn’t come at the expense of fuel economy. The Sonata is as efficient as it is sporty, serving up 29 mpg combined (25 city/36 hwy) in its base form.**

Key Features

Infinity® Premium Audio System

Available in the Ultimate Package for the Limited trim, this 400-watt audio system delivers crystal-clear sound throughout your vehicle, transforming every drive into a trip to the concert hall. Stream music from your Bluetooth®-equipped phone, or connect your smartphone for access to your entire music library at your fingertips.

Hyundai Blue Link®

Standard on all trims but the base SE and Eco, Hyundai Blue Link® is the digital security system that allows users to lock their doors remotely, call for help in emergency situations, and ensure that the car's systems are functioning properly. It also provides parents with information about their teenager's driving habits.

Alternative Options

The redesigned 2018 Hyundai Elantra is also another great option for compact shoppers. The new Elantra offers considerable comfort, space, and style for an affordable price. Buyers in need of a little more space (but not too much) should consider the 2018 Hyundai Kona. The first-ever compact crossover from Hyundai, the Kona offers everything for everyone, and it looks great doing it.
