The Hyundai Santa Fe returns for 2016 with the same great style, features, and value that make it a popular choice among SUV shoppers. For 2016, the base GLS trim has been renamed the SE.
A Pleasant Surprise
If you think a limited budget means you and your family need to settle for a pre-owned seven-passenger SUV think again. The 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe is an attractively priced SUV that delivers outstanding style, features, and comfort—all at an affordable price.
Powertrains and Performance
The 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe is actually the larger of two models in the Santa Fe family. While the smaller Santa Fe Sport makes due with only four-cylinder power, this model gets something a little extra for a more upscale experience.
The sole engine option for the larger Santa Fe is an upsized 3.3-liter V6, with 290 horsepower and 252 pound feet of torque. It’s mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with Shiftronic manual shifting, with your choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
The V6 achieves EPA-rated fuel economy of 21 mpg combined (18 mpg city, 25 mpg highway)* with front-wheel drive, and 20 mpg combined (18 mpg city, 24 mpg highway)* with all-wheel drive.
Not only does the V6 provide plenty of grunt to help the Santa Fe get out of its own way, it also allows this midsize crossover to tow up to 5,000 pounds.
