Coming to the US Soon: The Powerful Hyundai Elantra Sport

We're big fans of the Hyundai Elantra here at Heritage Hyundai Towson. Not only does the sedan come with a host of great tech and safety features (like Automatic Emergency Braking with segment-first Pedestrian Detection), but it's also easy on the eyes, and it's very affordable. Add that all together and you get a pretty sweet deal. But you know what would make that deal even sweeter? More power. That's why we're so excited to hear that the Elantra Sport will be headed to the US by the end of the year.

Often, new Hyundai models get released first in South Korea before they make their way Stateside with a name change, and the Elantra Sport is no different. Shown off in Korea as the Avante Sport, the Elantra Sport will get to take advantage of the Veloster Turbo's 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, translating into a very respectable 201 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque.

When you also consider the Elantra Sport's upgraded rear suspension, choice of a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and a six-speed manual, and new styling tweaks including lower side sills and larger openings in the front fascia, it's clear that this is a car that's here to do two things and do them well: get you places fast, and look good while it does so.

Though we know that we'll see the Elantra Sport on our lot by the end of the year, it's not here yet. Luckily, we have plenty of new and used models to tide you over until then. To learn more about them, call, contact us online, or stop by and see us in person at 801 York Road, Towson, MD 21204 today.
