New Features and Upgrades Highlight the 2016 Hyundai Sonata
Fans of the Sonata nameplate have a lot to get excited about as Hyundai has announced a host of changes and improvements for the 2016 model year.
For 2016, Hyundai’s popular and award-winning sedan gets even more features, including minor styling updates, suspension upgrades, and improved fuel economy on models equipped with the 2.4L engine.
Outside, the Limited trim benefits from a more aggressively styled front bumper and new 17-inch alloy wheel design.
The 2016 Sonata’s ehancements aren’t just cosmetic, though. To improve handling, some of the vehicle’s suspension components now consist of aluminum instead of steel. The use of aluminum also carries over to the Sonata’s steering knuckle, lower control arm in front, upper control arm, and assist arms. All of which combine to help reduce weight and improve the Sonata’s already sharp handling.
It’s a similar story on the inside too. New features include Hyundai’s 7-inch color touchscreen Display Audio system, Android Auto, and rearview camera system. In addition, a conventional sunroof is now available on Sport models and standard on Limited trims. Limited 2.0T models also add a heated function for the D-cut steering wheel.
The feature-rich 2016 Sonata starts at $21,750, excluding $835 freight charge, and is available now.
